10 clients in 11 locations in 3 different states in 7 days...that's how Steve rolls! I have yet to figure out how he gets so much done. Sometimes I get tired just thinking about it!
Although it's not unusual for Steve to cover this much gound in a week, this trip is special because he got to see so many amazing installations of our products. I am sure what I am about to show and tell is too much for just one post.
Rewind to Thursday, August 9th. Steve loads the bed of his truck with 500 sq.ft. of hand scraped, hand sanded Eastern White Pine Flooring, 11 stair treads, handrails, a custom table designed by a client and about 70 feet of barn wood. In the back seat goes a suitcase, and a case of "Historic Flooring" Cabernet Sauvignon, and in the CD player, "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance". Unfazed by getting a bit of a late start, and a few "minor" traffic delays, Steve remains on schedule for his first stop.
Friday morning, he is greeted with a warm (and very tasty) breakfast sandwich at the home of Mike S., a client who will be installing the Eastern White Pine Flooring, stairs and hand rails in his "Man Cave" in Monkton, MD. As Mike and his friend commence unloading, Steve enjoys his sandwich and they discuss installation, hand pegging and finishing options. The bulk of Steve's cargo has been unloaded, and there is one less bottle in the case of wine.
Next stop, Silver Springs, MD to see Daniel M. and deliver the 82 X 30 rustic farm table that he and his wife designed for their new condo. The stop was short and sweet, and the wine bottle count decreases by one.
The bed of the truck is almost empty, but all work and no play makes Steve a dull boy. Time for some seafood and a ball game with his son.
...to be continued :)
